Welcome
Hello and welcome to scottishness. I am the mod and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Please leave a comment below with an introduction. If your are stuck for ideas of what to write, try using these as starters:

1: Hi! I am: Funk. I am the mod of this community. I'm 22 and have lived in Scotland for, well, the past 22 years!
2: I'm here because: I want to let people know what Scotland is all about, it's good and bad sides, what makes it so special.

Please do not make a post with just an introduction; they block up communities!

Hi, I'm Tracy! I'm from Boston, MA right now, but moving to Florida this year. I've visited Inverness and think that Scotland is the most beautiful place in the world. I love the Highlands, love to hike there, love the people, love the language.

I've not visited Inverness before, though it does look beautiful ;)

Introducing myself and a question
Hi, I am Luthien. Well, sort of, I like to associate myself with her, actually I am a hungarian living in Transylvania (Romania).
I am also interested in all that is Scottish, and have set a special task for myself. I have recently found out about Thomas the Rhymer, I have read the ballad, and I am especially curious about any traditional songs related to the ballad. I was hoping that you, or whoever might know about it may be able to help me in this matter. So I am looking for the ballad in the form of a song... if such exists. Hopefully a traditional version. Thank you in advance for whoever might be able to help me.

Hello. I am sevedra. I am 39 and love Scotland, tough I am American.

I am here because I am interested in all things Scottish. I was fortunate enough to vacation in Scotland for 2 weeks in 2007. I didn't get to see or do nearly enough in that time. I hope one day to go back for a longer visit. When the economy is better maybe..

Silly me, I must have missed this one!

I'm Sugar, and I'm completely amused by all the US members, because I too am from the USA. 27 years old currently, and an aspiring grad student hoping to study folklore in Scotland-- everyone please cross your fingers for me, I'm waiting on an answer in response to my application as we speak!

I currently live in Michigan, the campus I'll be going to (hopefully) is in Dumfries, and if I don't get in there, Glasgow and Edinburgh are next on my list to apply.

I don't know tons about Scotland yet and joined this community hoping to learn more! I'm in love with the place already. I can't wait to go!
